Description

Here's all the ships from Omega that I've done for the humans thus far, to scale, all but one being retextured from the original simplified textures provided by Cinema 4D. Here's the list as far as each of them are considered, from left to right, top to bottom:

Moriarty-Class Frigate, Colonial Variant: The traditional Moriarty frigate, the largest warship of human design capable of flying in an atmosphere without gravity problems, and one of the greatest relics of the War of Three Factions, the Moriarty is the primary colony ship used to patrol colonial space, especially outside of the safety of the RUSN military zone. It is an especially effective planetary bombardment warship.

Moriarty-Class Frigate, Military Variant: The badass military version of the still-lethal colonial variant, the military variant is a deadly piece of work, relying less upon planetary contingencies and more upon long-range warfare. It does this using the extra pair of long-range guns strapped to its sides, which can fire either lethal EMP bursts or powerful, giant-sized bullets that can puncture through unshielded targets in an instant.

Baboon-Class Corvette: A decent support vessel, the Baboon is basically a miniature destroyer, attacking at close range without quarter. Unlike its cousin, the Shrike, it doesn't have the luxury of speed given that it uses its weapons to take out slower targets. As such, when facing longer ranged targets, it uses specially designed missile jamming stations that scramble the missile guidance systems used by longer range targets.

Hulk-Class Barge: A mining/heavy cargo vessel, the Hulk carries around massive amounts of asteroids freshly mined from belts, most of them unfiltered and unrefined to their specific ores, so that they can be transferred to mining stations and then, later, sent to the primary station as refined resources.

Maverick-Class Yacht: Originally built as a tourist boat, the Maverick is a suitable transportation vessel designed to carry personell usually from one station to another, or sometimes across a whole system when properly supplied, while at the same time providing top-class views of space via the massive windows of its personell cabins. This does come at a price; they cannot go into atmosphere or get caught in a firefight, because the ship itself is fragile enough that all it takes is one stray missile to kill everyone in a cabin.

Short Tug: A very simple freighter, Short Tugs exist only to carry materials from one place to another, usually from one station to the next. They are small, slow, and tend to be unreliable, but what one can count on is that they are as cheap as cheap can get without being too over the top. Colony space farers in training often use this ship as their first vessel, primarily because they are so easy to fly and tend to absorb quite a lot of damage if one ever gets into trouble.

Viper-Class Security Vessel: Yet another relic of the past, the Viper-Class Security Vessel is a hallmark of when spacefaring was first starting out. A very simple vessel requiring a crew of two, Vipers are your typical old-fashioned police cars, and are still manufactured only because the designs are cheap and easy to reuse over and over again. Vipers are only seen anymore around colony stations, and tend to be released in groups of four.

Wallaby-Class Jumpship: One of the most common jumpship vessels seen in RUSN space, the Wallaby is designed specifically for one purpose; to take ships from one end of the galaxy to another. Basically a massive Folded Space Drive with engines and ship grapplers attached to it, the Wallaby can carry up to six small non-FTL vessels and carry them at great speeds across systems until they get to their designated jump point, where the massive Folded Space Drives get to work. Despite being only geared for jumping across space, Wallabies are also designed with very fast and capable engines for three reasons; 1. jump points tend to be far apart, 2. Bridge Space is travelled through quicker on a ship with faster engines, and 3. when being chased by pirates, the slowest ships are the most vulnerable; better to be fast and speedy than slow and a sitting duck.

Shrike-Class Corvette (next to moriarty): The Shrike is one of the best dedicated strike vessels used by the RUSN. Fast enough to almost be a fighter vessel on steroids, Shrikes are very swift vessels designed to overtake pirate ships and disable them quickly, while at the same time escort larger ships and provide a quick means of distraction and support while the ship they escort escapes. Some Shrikes are even equipped with cloak drives, allowing them to attack hastily and without warning.

Pirate Ant: Ant-Class Constructors tend to be very swift and devilish machines when used properly. Pirates tend to go the cheap way out and steal these ships so as to tear them apart and convert them into mobile gunboats. They tend to be effective too, and can easily be replaced once a raid is over.

Pirate Tug: Tugs, when the engines are replaced, can sometimes become deadly mobile bombs that can fly swiftly at an enemy target. These ships are rigged with explosives while hostages or prisoners are strapped to the helm, where they are forced to pilot the ship straight into the enemy vessel. The explosion tends to be enough to kill shields and send most ships flying out of formation.

Pirate Packrat: Given that pirates love the cheap and easy way out, they tend to reuse old wrecks and parts instead of buy new ships. Packrats, being a very versatile and highly defensive vessel, tend to be the best choice for a large raiding ship. Pirates will take scuttled vessels or steal existing ones and replace their magnetic plates with ship grapplers, strap guns to the sides, and send them full force into battle. Given their powerful armor, these ships tend to become very difficult and dangerous enemies to deal with.

Orion-Class Freighter: Designed by some of the greatest minds in Atlantis Corp, the Orion trades the concept of a freighter's massive size for speed. They have enough power to soar through space fast enough to outrun most enemy ships, and also have the defenses to defend their precious cargo. If it weren't for the fact that they were so expensive both to build and to license, they would make perfect blockade runners that could transport supplies behind enemy lines to otherwise cut-off forces.

Draco-Class Security Vessel: A very swift vessel, the Draco is a powerful hit-and-run ship, capable of crippling ships twice its size in mere moments. The ship itself is a reknown and capable warship, and would have had its rights bought off by the military if Atlantis Corp. didn't recognize its potential firsthand and kept it for themselves, selling individual licenses for the vessels at such outrageous prices that only the biggest stations ever bother buying a squadron.

Scorpio-Class Security Vessel: While the Draco is used for short range, the Scorpio is used for distance fights. Most contingencies on Atlantis property tend to be well organized, as all but the bravest...or most foolish...dare to try and steal Atlantis property. Scorpios are missile gunboats that attack at long range, striking at enemy forces with very capable missile defenses that range from shield crackers to non-exotic torpedoes, both of which tend to get the job done.

Corinth-Class Yacht: Not necessarily an official ship in Omega, the Corinth was designed when I attempted to create a couple of ships that pay tribute to Eve Online and got way ahead of myself and made them too much like the originals (the Scorpio being one of them). Ant-Class Constructor (on Packrat): The military's favorite construction vessel, the Ant-Class Constructor has been in military use for decades, specifically because it is affordable, dependable, and easily replaced...not to mention its a devil to try and kill given its speed, maneuverability, and defensive capabilities. Ants are often used whenever the military is involved in space-faring assignments such as building new outposts or on long campaigns, both because the constructors can build easily, but also because they can make quick repairs in the middle of a battle without problem.

Packrat-Class Freighter: The RUSN military's chosen freighter, the Packrat is a hard-to destroy, and even harder to capture starship designed to carry almost any kind of cargo from one place to another. Bigger than most frigates and designed to travel through Bridge Space quickly, a Packrat uses its prime defenses to keep its cargo safe from anything, from unlikely meteor showers to more-than-likely pirate attacks.
