Beast Men: Bo-Vore Berserker

Description

Bo-Vore Berserker

Among the stronger of the Beast Men tribes are Bo-Vores. These are powerful, cattle-like creatures; said to be similar in animal structure as the extinct Aurochs of ancient Minos, whose descendants have now become modern cattle. Bo-Vores are also relatively timid, though they are more than likely capable to rise up to war than their Capra-Vore cousins. Bo-Vores when in battle use great strength and show no mercy in battle; often not even wiping off the blood on their bodies until long after the battle is over. This form of fighting has given them the name of Berserkers by the other races, though they themselves don’t actually go berserk. They simply desire to end the battle as quickly as possible, even if it means they have to kill many more to end it.

Bo-Vores, like all Beast Men, revere nature, and have a divine hatred to all who dare disgrace her. Several interesting facts of note include that Bo-Vores are one of the two Beast-Men tribes that has an almost entirely herbivorous diet, while the other Herbi-Vore tribes eat fish and occasionally locusts as supplemental protiens. Bo-Vores are also an uncommon numbered tribe, but are numerous enough that if one of their tribes is wiped out in battle, it isn't too devastating for their people. Bo-Vores are the agricultural experts of Minos, trading farm crops for other items of importance to their people such as weapons, which they do not craft.

Bo-Vores have their origins from We are Warriors' earliest years. Back then, Minos was a land of only Minotaurs. It had a relatively Greek-styled culture (hence the name), and was sided with the Sons of Zarkros. After a while I grew tired of the very Tauren-esque Minotaurs and went with something different, and the Beast Men were practically forgotten until much later in the story's history. When they were remembered, they were given more diversity, though the Minotaurs were still implemented into the faction. Bo-Vores are one of the two tribes that pays tribute to that old age when I was rather naiive and totally focused upon letting my ideas flow instead of letting just my original ideas flow; a gift which I will always regret even to this day.

Bo-Vore body designs are inspired by their Greek monster likeness; large, cattle-like (specifically Aurochs or Texas Longhorn, either one works), and brutal warriors. Attacking in small squads of five individuals, they act as heavy infantry; able to break lines as well as keep their own line held tightly. Bo-Vores are very resistant to pain, and can occasionally go berserk if they see nature being defiled or their brethren killed. However, their normal fighting behavior, while considered berserk by many, is simply to get the fight finished faster while also giving their tribe a brutish and fearful reputation so that others stay out of their way. They hate fighting with a passion, so they prefer to get it over with rather than avoid it and have the battle become drawn out.

Their tribe happens to have two branching variants from the first; one of them pays further tribute to the classical Man-Beast monster.

I hope you enjoyed! Until next time, me out!
