Civilian 7: Orion-Class Freighter

Atlantis Corporation is the largest and most economically stable corporation in human existance. Centered in the space station of their origin, Atlantis Corporation is a very rich corporation, with any one of its higher employees capable of purchasing their own private worlds if they wished. The corporation is known for its use of its funds to create expensive, but very effective and nigh invincible, ship designs for different purposes. The many ships and stations under their command are designed only by the best of the best engineers. It is rumored that the Packrat-Class Freighter was one of their "throwaway" designs because it did not match their exact specs and requirements, resulting in the ship's reuse as a military vessel.

The Orion is the Atlantis Corporation's equivalent of the civilian Short Tug. A medium-sized freighter, the vessel is quick and can carry more than enough cargo needed for the use of resources, be it refined ores from asteroids or the parts needed to build other ships, or even supplies for colony worlds and troops.

Orions happen to be the cheapest ship available for purchase, which is saying something because it costs as much as a Moriarty Military-Variant Frigate with all of its armaments, fuel, and crew for just the ship on its own. An Orion, however, is a well earned investment; all of the defensive power of a Packrat in a ship small enough and quick enough to maneuver on its own. Its only drawback is that it needs a Jumpship in order to get from system to system, though that is usually something taken care of easily.
